Morgan Zacher began her curling journey in 2018 at age 12 when she joined the Chaska Junior Curling Program in Minnesota. It didn’t take long for her competitive spirit to take hold. During those early years, she met longtime teammates Allie and Brooke Giroux while also competing with the SubZero Curling Team — experiences that helped lay the foundation for her development as a high-level athlete.
With the addition of Sophia Ryhorchuk in the 2020–2021 season, Team ZRGG/Ryhorchuk quickly became a force on the national junior circuit. Their hard work and chemistry culminated in winning the 2023 USA Curling U18 National Championship, earning Morgan her first national title and establishing her as one of the top young curlers in the country.
For the 2023–2024 season, Morgan joined Team Johnson, where she played second and also stepped into the vice role. Competing at both the U18 and U21 National Championships, she continued to demonstrate versatility, strong sweeping ability, and sharp in-game awareness — key attributes for a second who can also help manage strategy.
That same season, Morgan competed at the Youth Olympic Games Trials, teaming up with Allory Johnson, Mason Guentzel, and Stuart Strack. The team was coached by Olympian and USA Curling Senior Men’s National Champion Tim Solin, providing invaluable experience competing at an elite international qualifying level.
Morgan is attending the University of St. Thomas, pursuing a degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science — a field that complements her passion for athletics and high performance. Her academic focus reflects her commitment not only to excelling on the ice, but also to understanding the science behind training, recovery, and overall wellness.
Driven, team-oriented, and competitive, Morgan continues to build on her national success while balancing collegiate academics and elite junior curling.
